On 15 May,2022 Medvarsity had organised a JOB Fair for budding Nutritionists. It was attended by heads of various organization who were interested in recruiting budding Nutritionists and explain what are the job profiles available in the market. Dr Santoshi HOD Nutrition Department OUCW,Koti was the opening speaker who spoke about the growth of Nutrition as a subject and the scopes in the past few years. Oliva Clinic known for skin and hair treatment also joined the fair. The speaker encouraged students to master the art of analysing clinical signs and symptoms and become more aware so that they can easily and independently diagnose certain diseases. Fitello, a new venture in Mohali, came all the way to Hyderabad to explore the availability of skilled nutritionists so that they could promote their brand and venture in Hyd. Dr Ravi Kanth, from the FMCG sector, Nestle, was also part of the Conclave. He being a professional doctor explained the gap in the medical field that can be filled by Nutritionists. He spoke about the boom in the awareness putting a lot of pressure on the FMCG to come with better products that promote health. Dr Sunder Pal, who is also a professional doctor, showed the gap in payscales created due to lack of awareness skills in the students. He explained how it is possible to bridge the gap by developing oneself and marketing the skills properly. Prasanthi Surya, Chief Dietitian, Basvavaratkam indo American inst, concentrated her speech on the importance of developing specialized courses in the Field of Nutrition and how continued service in a particular medicine like oncology, pediatrics, etc could help dietitians earn and serve better. The Dietitian from Healthifyme attended the conclave online to explain the growth of their app in the past decade, what it offers to clients, who can be part of the team, and the perks of working with their company. Lastly there was a talk on Nutrepreneurship and what it takes to build a brand of one's own and how it can hello the students who re interested in being their own master. Overall, though the Conclave did not have many jobs to offer or interviews held, it did give an idea of opportunities. What we took away from the Conclave: Where do we lack in honing skills and identifying the skill set required for various job profiles .Concentrate on what the market demands , apart from education. Giving students maximum exposure in other colleges to develop self confidence. The significance of making a mark in the other colleges and not just in ones own. Boosting students to come out of their boundaries to explore the opportunities available. Training faculty to deal and speak with students in a manner that improves their communication skills and also sets an example for them to follow in terms of professionalism, how to professionally organize programs and how our programs need a facelift so that students feel at ease in the external programs.
